Cruising Plus is owned and managed by Ingrid and Scott Davey and was established in 2004. We are respected cruise & travel consulting agency specialising in accessible cruise & travel. We proud to be a registered NDIS service provider, a member of ATAC (Australian Travel Agent Co-operative), as well as an accredited Master Cruise Agency with CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) along with many other travel industry supplier accreditations. We are also a certified Accessible Travel Advocate, an agent for Autism on the Seas (USA based) and a certified Autism Travel Professional with IBCCES.
Our consulting office is based in Norwood and is available by appointment only as we also offer a mobile service so we are often elsewhere. Our unique flexible service means we are able to meet our clients in their home or business or at our office to assist them with their travel enquiries.
As an NDIS service provider we are able to assist NDIS participants as well as their family and friends. We believe travel should be accessible to everyone so we identify specific individual’s needs and coordinate all aspects of the necessary travel requirements to enable our clients to realise their travel dreams. Our aim is to make the arranging of travel plans as exciting, simple and convenient as we possibly can so we adjust our way of doing business to suit the individual. With over 35 years of small business & travel industry experience between us, we have the knowledge, specialised training and experience to build a trusting and supportive relationship with each and every client to ensure we understand their travel needs and expectations.
At Cruising Plus you will always be supported by the same friendly and understanding consultant, either Ingrid or Scott, which is not what you would usually experience when dealing with larger commercial agencies who turn over staff regularly or when dealing with online, faceless agencies.
Scott Davey is a Director of Cruising Plus and a qualified Master Cruise Consultant with CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association Australasia) as well as having completed individual cruise line Academy training to the highest level available, including Holland America Line, P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Princess Academies. Scott has completed his “Autism Friendly” course with Autism SA and is very experienced in all aspects of travel consulting including designing complex itineraries.
Scott is partnered by his wife, Ingrid Davey, co-founder & Director of Cruising Plus who is also a Master Cruise Consultant with CLIA. Ingrid is passionate about accessible cruise and travel and has undertaken additional studies to enable her to co-ordinate special needs for all clients when travelling, including equipment hire and accessible arrangements. Together they have cruised and travelled all over the world.
OUR SERVICE DELIVERY APPROACH
We offer a person-centred approach whereby we focus on an individual’s personal needs, wants, desires and goals and create ways of ensuring these are met to the best of our knowledge and ability.
We take into account the best interest of every client / NDIS participant, their family and extended support network to build a trusting and beneficial relationship. Travelling, whether it is locally, interstate or overseas can be difficult and/or stressful to navigate if you have a disability and/or special needs but we are here to help identify any barriers and will coordinate all your arrangements to ensure you have the best travel experience.
We believe everyone should have the chance to travel and explore the world whether it’s for fun, adventure, education or medical requirements. The world is full of amazing destinations and we are here to help people with disabilities and/or special needs realise their travel dreams whether they are travelling alone, with family, friends or carers. We believe in accessible travel for all and are committed to assisting those who need a little extra care and support.
NDIS does not fund holidays as such however the supports a participant requires may be funded if written into the plan as a goal, and determined that the “reasonable & necessary” criteria has been met. You can still claim supports even if it is not written into to your plan and we can provide you with an estimate of what travel supports you may require and the costs to pursue the goals and objectives of where and why you want to travel.
